The department organized a Workshop on “Cloud Computing and its Application” on 10th Feb 2011. The Head of the Department,   Prof. N. Amanullah welcomed the gathering. The resource persons were introduced by Mr.S.Vedantha Rajagopal, Assistant Professor, MCA and Mr.A.Manimaran, Lecturer,MCA.
The function was presided by Dr.S.Ambal, Professor, Department of MCA. In his felicitation address, Dr.B.Karthikeyan shared his view about Cloud Computing. He also added the role of cloud computing in small scale industries and merits of the same.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Ganapathy Jayaraman Listed out the responsibilities of a student to become a successful professional. He pointed out that students must apply their knowledge to develop good products which will serve the society as a whole.The first technical session was handled by Mr. Dhakshina Pillai. He introduced the concepts of Cloud Computing. He detailed on the architecture, design issues, applications of cloud computing and Green IT. Students interacted with him putting more queries based the projects on cloud computing.

The second technical Session was handled by Mr.Ganapathy Jayaraman. He trained the students on business intelligence by giving real time examples using various data warehousing concepts. The session was very much interactive. More than 230 students were benefited in this Workshop. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. S.Kasthuri, Lecturer / MCA.
