About Library

Library serves the academic needs of staff, students and research scholars of our College.If the students of an educational institution can be linked to the externally moving dynamic waters of a river, the faculties are the two banks that give shape, dynamism and direction to the rivers, making its fluidity purposeful. The reading material support the curriculum needs of students and faculty members. The Library provides excellent environment for study with convenient access to printed and Electronic Resources.Computer facilities are also housed in the library providing easy access for our Readers Our Library services are fully automated by using the standard Library software package called NIRMALS. The circulation system is computerized. Access to users are provided with Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC).It is fully air-conditioned and well-equipped with modern furniture in reading halls. Library remains open on all days of the year from 8.00 AM – 08.00 PM.

Various Developmental Stages of the Library

1996 Library was established at the time of College inception in a 1000 Sq. Ft. Area
2003 Library shifted to Air-conditioned area of 2500 Sq. Ft. in the Ground Floor
2003 Computer bibliographical data entry introduced
2004 OPAC introduced
2005 Book Bank Scheme introduced
2006 Library shifted from 2500 Sq. Ft. area to 10000 Sq. Ft. area
2008 Journals are computerized & Current Content Services are introduced
2009 Digital Library introduced
2009 Self-Service Machines are introduced

Sections, Services & Facilities

Stack Section
 

        
•    Stack & depository Services – Students have direct access to the stack, Text books in multiple copies and books in demand are also available, and rearrangement of stack is done daily.


Journal Section
Journal Section has a collection of nearly 276 periodicals including both National and International Journals

Reference Section
•    Reference Service – this section contains valuable, essential and important reference books. The reference sections are also divided into projects, back volume, costly books, dictionaries and
Encyclopedias. 

•    Digital Library / Computing facilities
All Library In-House Operations are fully automated using Nirmals Software, a user –friendly software. Nirmals consist of Modules on Acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials, articles, Indexing and OPAC. The database of Books available in the Library is being updated on day to day basis with details of recently acquired books.

Book Bank Section

 

•      Archives Services – Rare books and other important books are stored in this section. These are not for loan purpose.
•    Book Bank Services – Book Bank Section has a collection of  961 books and provided to the poor students  for a semester.
•    Clipping Service and Document Delivery Service – The news paper clippings, newly arrived books and cover page of journals are displayed in notice board and also provide to the department and notification services.
•    Photocopying & Printing Service - Library offers photocopying services to all its readers, and other member institute at a nominal cost.
