In order to meet the wide ranging, challenging and very rapidly growing Global Demands of ‘ IT Industries’ in this Hi-Tech Era, the Department of Information Technology has been established in 2007. The conceptualization and formulation for the start of this ‘Branch of Study’ stems out of the following related considerations. This is a branch of Engineering study which sparks imagination and interest for creativity and provides the right perception and insight into Software Development and Computer Applications. It opens the excellent scope and new avenues for adaptation and thus enables pursuit of Hi-Tech Specialization that engages the world.

The Department strives to develop long term relationships with industries and market the students’ talents effectively. The students are thus being provided high level leads and pathways that will enable them to gain access to broad range of high potential and hi-tech career opportunities. The Department has a name for itself among the top few colleges at university level through its excellent performance in the University Examinations and by organizing national level Seminars, and symposia.

The Department is equipped with 3 computers lab with IBM & HP, proliant servers and 180 inter core 2 duo operational modes of IBM & HP computers which are designed with structured cabling. The computer centre’s provide 24 hours internet connectivity through broadband at 8 Mbps(1:1) offered by BSNL. A slew of latest licensed software to equip the students to meet the challenges is made available in the department. To ensure a protective usage of the internet facility by the students, firewall hardware has been installed.
