Academics

Information Technology is a wide-ranging discipline that bridges the gap between the technical issues involved in supplying the power of IT to an organization and the business issues that demand effective information support for decision-making.  The program design is such that the graduate develops a practical understanding of the technology.  In this course, the students acquire specific database and application system design skills combined with knowledge of the software tools employed to aid the design and implementation of information systems in an organization.

Faculty

The IT department has sufficient stellar faculty of Professors and Lecturers whose areas of expertise and research includes Network Security, Grid Computing, Wireless Communication and .NET Technologies. 

Cutting-edge laboratories & facilities

 The department has state-of-art computing facilities to enable the students and faculty to achieve their tasks with ease operation in their area of interest.  The laboratories are installed with the latest relevant software to cater to the requirements of the curriculum.

 Due to the versatile demand of this modern discipline, the department has to its credit of 3 computer centers with 5 IBM servers and 350 IBM operational terminals.  Wi-Fi Access points are being provided for wireless internet access along with Internet access through 8 Mbps (BSNL) dedicated bandwidth. Many application software like Visual Studio, .NET, Oracle 9i, Macromedia Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, IBM Rational Suite and others are also available.  A working relationship with Microsoft ensures unlimited license for Microsoft products.

 Research Focus

 Research in the department focuses on creating and evaluating, innovative learning experiences inspired by educational principles and technical process.  The faculties of our department is actively involving in various research areas which includes Network Security, Wireless Communication, Image processing and Grid Computing.  More than 20 papers in were published in International and National Conferences.

Major Events & Achievements

 The department holds national conferences, national seminars, student symposia, short-term training program and value added courses.  This provides wide range of opportunities for faculty and students to bring out their hidden talents and innovative skills in different diversified fields.  The department has organized National Conference on Advanced Computing Technologies (NCACT), National Seminar on Advanced Computing Technologies (NSACT) and National level technical symposium for students every year.


Association Activities

 The Information Technology Association (InfoVista) helps the students by organizing Guest Lectures, Workshops, Technical Seminars, Mock Interview, Personality Development Programme, Industrial Visit and In-plant Training. 

Careers

 Students have obtained successful placements at leading companies like TCS, Infosys, CTS, IBM, ORACLE, HCL, iGATE, iFLEX, KELTRON, and etc.
