The ChemSpark association of Chemistry Department of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women, Perambalur, organized a certificate course on“Hands on Training in Textile Printing” on 19th and 20th December 2011.Shri. A.Srinivasan, Founder - Chairman Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Groups of Institutions presided over the function. Ms.Uma, Head, Department of Chemistry welcomed the gathering.

              Mr.Surendran, Instructor, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem was the resource person. The students were trained in various types of textile printing process.As the students are from various departments, the fundamentals and basics of various textile fibers were explained. The object of various colouring techniques were elaborated in the beginning.

            The process of coloring i.e. dyeing and printing with their objects was demonstrated. Finally students were trained in carrying out the different types of printing and special effects like Tie and Dye, Block Printing, Screen printing, Batic Printing with various classes of dyes.

          It is observed that the students enjoyed carrying out colorful printing traits in the training session.Around 150 students from various departments participated in this training program and got benefitted.
