The Department of Microbiology of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women, Perambalur organized an Outreach programme on Importance of Life Sciences at Government Higher Secondary School, Perambalur on 2nd March 2012. Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Educational Institutions, and Perambalur presided over the function. Dr.R.M.Meenakshi, Advisor and Mrs. K.Baghirathi Principal-In-charge, felicitated the gathering. Mrs. P.Gajalakshmi Head, Department of Microbiology welcomed the gatherings. The resource person Mrs. G.Latha, Lecturer, Department of Microbiology delivered the “Importance of Life Sciences”.
She insisted about the need of research activities in Life Science field and explained about our state position in the development of thirst areas such as Medicine, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical and Food. The awareness and scope in this field were explained with quoting the names of companies, Institutions, Research laboratories etc. Young researchers are welcomed to the field of Life Sciences. School Teachers were participated and benefited. The Head master of the School Proposed the vote of thanks.

The Department of Computer Applications and Commerce of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts & Science for Women, Perambalur, organized an outreach programme for IX standard students of Government Higher Secondary School, Chettikulam, entitled “Banking Operation” and “Internet Awareness”. Ms.A.Rama Lakshmi Assistant Professors, Department of Commerce has elaborately briefed about Banking, and its operations in rural and urban areas. She also gave a lecture on E-banking and also on banking development in India and its uses. Ms.R.Angayarkanni explained about the procedure for filling up of bank Challan for various purposes like deposits, withdrawal and for obtaining demand drafts besides the operation of ATM.
Ms.S.Subthra and Ms.N.Sageetha, Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Applications handled the session. They lectured on Internet, Internet uses, advantages and disadvantages of internet. They briefed the information with the help of computer. They also explained that Internet plays a major role, especially in the field of education and they taught the student how to browse and search for information in websites. Through this programme 200 students got benefited and feedback from the students were collected and registered in the school campus. Mrs K.Baghirathi Principal In-charge, Dr.R.M.Meenakshi Advisor, and Mr.R.Gnanasekaran Head Master offered felicitations.
