About Library

         Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering and Technology Central library has recently been moved to 9000 sq.ft space with all the modern facilities.  Library is fully air conditioned.  We have a Reading Section, a Digital Section, an Internet connected Media center and Separate section for Group discussions.  The college library is fully automated with the installation of NIRMALS (Networked Information Resource Management for Academic Library System) software. In addition to the central library, there are smaller libraries in each department, which houses books borrowed from the main library for quick reference.

Library Collections

         The library has 20100 volume of books in 9500 titles on different disciplines covering all major fields of Engineering, Science and Humanities. The Library subscribes 206 National & International periodicals including IEEE, ACM, & Indian Academic of Sciences, ICFAI publications. The library is also having Educational CD ROM, DVD Back Volumes, Project Reports, etc. Apart from the central library each department is maintaining one department library effectively.
 

STACK SECTION

          There are 20100 books available for the study which includes books from various field of Engineering, General, Computer Science and Management.

REFERENCE SECTION

           A good number of copies of the Text books are available in the reference section that includes Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Multiple volume books, Year books, Entrance Exam books like GATE books, TOFEL Knowledge Books, Interview attending books, Jobs related books, Objective Type Question Books, Projects, Hand Books, University Question Papers and the Rare Books. One copy of text books and some other titles are also available in the reference section.
 

PERIODICALS SECTION

          There are 206 Number of Periodicals including IEEE Journals, subject related Magazines, General Magazines and Newspapers.

BACK VOLUME SECTION

           We have a collection of above 200 back volumes in various field of Engineering and Management.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

           We have good digital Library with lot of digital resources materials.

ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOGUE (OPAC)

           Students can verify the availability of library resources through OPAC .This open access system helps to maximize the use of library resources.

BOOK BANK SCHEME

            As per the advice of Government of Tamil Nadu, the library has got a book bank scheme exclusively for the SC/ST students. The students can avail four additional books for a semester in additions to the regular library cards.

INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP IN OTHER LIBRARIES

           The college central library has enrolled as a corporate member in the following libraries:
