Education is the watchword that makes and shapes our future .It drives away ignorance by lighting the lamp of wisdom , direct a man to a righteous action , enable a woman to a higher  horizon. Education is an experience of learning. Educational institutions are the “citadels of learning’’ that aim at opening the world of knowledge, wisdom and skills. It takes up the challenges to built the future pillars of the nation. We rely on the main ethos of concern, care for the students and commitment to the betterment of the society. We believe in building strong foundation for the students.

Nursing as a service which make the student outstanding in all its endeavors in the personalized care that is given to the patient.  The students motto is ‘DELIVER THE QUALITY AND COST EFFECTIVE CARE’    meticulously translated into action especially while serving the sick.  Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan  Nursing Students not merely  care giver, computer savvy, confident and highly resourceful person.  Enclosed with the unique quality of love, courage and mercy  which  is the hallmark of the nurse.


PHILOSOPHY

The institution believes that nursing is a service oriented profession based on scientific knowledge which assists people in achieving their maximum health potential.

It is believed that nursing is a health service provided to individuals families & community for prevention of disease, promotion and conservation restoration and maintenance of optimum health.

We believe that professional nurse is the one who possess intellectual competencies and professional skills acquired through higher education in a university.  Nursing knowledge is derived from physical, biological behavioural sciences and humanities and research applied to the practical field.

The recognized nature of nursing is a potential portion of students learning is acquired in the clinical area through practice.

It is also believed that the nursing education has as its major purpose in the development of a broadly prepared self – fulfilling concerned citizen.  Secure in his / her own potentialities prepared to accept the responsibilities of citizenship in her / his community and world with a deep respect for those with differing cultures, values and mores.

 
AIMS
• Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

• Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights and facilitate the individual and groups in pursuit of health, in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice.  They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical and public health setting.

Vision of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of nursing is to propagate socially meaningful health care, nursing education and research will adherence to moral, legal and ethical values.
