History of the College
Founded in the year 1994, the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Educational & Charitable Trust has been in the forefront of providing high quality education in the region of Perambalur, an upcoming Yet-to-be developed region of Tamil Nadu. Spurred by overwhelming enthusiasm and ambitions zeal, Shri A. Srinivasan, has been the Harbinger of Literacy Development by being the founder of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Education for women. Ours is the first self financing College for women which was started in the year 2005, functioning at Perambalur district which is only one of its kind.
Ours is the first self financing college that got affiliated to Bharathidasan University, for the course programme B.Ed., in the year 2005. The College is approved by NCTE and at present affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
The College strives to impart quality education, through a stimulating and innovative environment. Since inception, the college has been endeavouring to establish itself as a nodal center of learning, research and training.
Our Emblem and Motto
The emblem of the college consists of a circle divided into four parts. On the top left, there is Olympic torch signifying the mettle competence of students and the top right quarter circle exhibits the venerating hands which symbolize modestry and tradition.
At the bottom right there is an open book symbolizing knowledge. The bottom left represents a lotus the symbol which stands for purity and prosperity. Beneath the circle, there is a part of a verse from Thirukkural translated in English as “Knowledge is Power” which is the motto of our college.

Academic upliftment of students by eradicating illiteracy.
Upliftment of rural students by imparting higher education to them.
To offer Teacher education programmes of contemporary relevance.
To produce and ensure quality based pedagogy.
To impart knowledge, skill,social and moral values.
To remove gender inequality and gender bias, specifically in a rural scenario.
To strive for sustainable community socio development through extension activities.

Vision
The college envisages, strives to constitute and proliferate knowledge is power. The vision of the college is represented in its emblem. The college endeavours to produce a flawless pedagogical community through mutual love, respect, with egalitarian attitude, catering to the educational needs of all.
Mission
The mission is to create a flawless pedagogical community by imparting a sound education and educational teaching practice, inculcating in the students, sense of social service, a fervent spirit of a patriotism, national integration, democratic outlook as well as honing their dexterity to develop as resourceful and enterprising citizens who would contribute their best to national culture and civilization.
It is also the mission of the college to provide the highest quality education at an affordable cost to students especially from the poorest strata of the society and from an exclusively rural background of one of the most backward districts of Tamilnadu.
